All delegates will align with one of the parties based on their policies and values. Delegates may choose to run for the position of Party Leader.

The Party Leader serves as the face of the party and will:

​

  • Advocate for party policies in the House and Senate

  • Determine which bills the party will target

  • Appoint four whips

  • Conduct a party rally

The four whips appointed by the Party Leader will represent the party's policies in the House and Senate. They will debate in committees to ensure all targets are met.

​

ON PARTY DAY

ON LEAdership day

Delegates may choose to serve as moderators of debate and audition for the role of a Chair. Auditions typically take place throughout Leadership Day as practice bills are debated, with interested delegates rotated into the Chair position. The Chair is a neutral individual and will:

​

  • Maintain decorum in the room

  • Assess the order of the day

  •  Guide discussion 

​

There are two types of chairs: committee chair and overall chairs​Two Committee Chairs will be assigned to each committee decided by the parties on Party Day. The Overall Chairs will moderate general debate in the House and Senate, addressing a much larger audience while serving as the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate.
